It's Hodge's birthday today - he is 6 years old.

He has spent the day curled up in my chair sleeping. Who was it that said

"Cats are delicate creatures but I've yet to hear of one that suffers from insomnia!"

Happy Birthday Hodgey Podge!

The nieghbours dog growled hungrily when I mentioned it to him, so I don't think he really cares all that much.

My cats (Serge and Toot) send HUGE PURRS and in Serge's (psycho) case, probably also a large half-dead cicada.

Happy birthday Hodge Podge!

Ah - That explains why Maisie and Jack kept bringing in shrews, voles and wood mice yesterday. Where do I post them for Hodge?

H'mm, it's too late now for birthday greetings to be appropriate, so I'll wish Hodge a 'Happy Unbirthday' instead.

Skiffle and Diesel can barely tell one day from the next, so they miss everyone's birthdays - including mine - I've never had a present from them yet.

So, I guess none of you cat people have been playing 'clay kitten shooting' then.

This would be where the cat meows, you throw a clay disc in the air, and the cat sits and watches it with mild disdain, right?

That watching with a look of mild distain, thats actually when they are on record mode, when they do that washing thing with one leg pointing skyward, thats the anntena and its actually transmitting to its home planet. obviously they are solar powered and thats why they 'sleep' in the sun, recharging their batteries.

The funny thing is that people who love or hate cats seem to observe the same things about them.
