Felicitiations from me and and all at Slaithwaites. (Well, not from Carter, actually. Lily told him there was steam in that tube, but would he listen...)

Happy birthday! William Crustacean would be glad to write a poem in honour of the day, but if he does I promise not to pass it on.

Happy Birthday Ben!!! You should feel very honoured that the very first I wrote when I got back was to wish you a happy day. Indeed.

Anyways, I hope you've had a good one. Enjoy your evening, though I'm sure you don't need my encouragement...

Welcome back. How were the Wights?

That was quick! The Wight was wet. And cold and windy. But fun nevertheless. I got to do a lot of the stuff that I remembered from my younger days, so it was quite a nostalgic trip (and to be able to say that at 17 is shocking really).

We did some fun stuff. Treasure hunts, golfing, eating, beaching (just the once), castling, reading, shopping, the usual.

Unfortuneately I'm probably going to need a holiday to recover from my holiday and the sun has come out just as we got back. Typical.

Went to IOW only in childhood. Parents took a wrong turn after a long walk. We ended up trudging through an industrial estate. Then it began to rain.

My sister and I decided it was time to protest. We sang 'cold, tired, nothing to do' ad infinitum.

Surprised we're alive?

For anyone wondering: I've been given my ARA membership for the next year (I need it to race at regattas), The Band's Greatest Hits, and Eels' Shootenanny, oh, and a photo.

ARA membership, very handy! My brother now whines until someone sponsors him to enter regattas, the last one had an entry fee of £170 - yikes! He felt obliged to win a few races for that amount of dosh, but only came second - he's a bit out of condition.

<groan>

I don't know about rowing. I sailed a bit when I was younger (God that makes me sound old!) but not for a while. Rowing is far too physical!

Thank you one and all. I still feel slightly drunk, if I'm being honest.

Since when were you honest? Old age catching up with you, is it?
