Skiffle, I'm a big fan of Ribena milk (though I confess to not having tried adding a dash of peppermint as well - though I have tried adding Tesco's vanilla essence and that is YUM!) - anyway, the trick is to add the Ribena to the milk and not vice versa; to use "unleaded" milk where possible (ie skimmed or semi-skimmed); and never to compromise by trying to use Ribena Toothkind, C-Vit or worst of all proprietary brands of blackcurrant juice.
Actually I'm really glad you brought this up, since I was roundly accused of being "completely insane" by a former girlfriend for even daring to mention the combination of milk and Ribena (the writing was on the wall early on, I should have known we would soon cease to be an item). Another "weird thing" about me that irritated her no end was combing breakfast cereal, for example Weetabix and Cornflakes, or Shredded Wheat with a topping of Alpen (to name but two of hundreds of delicious combinations). The final straw was when I poured Carnation evaporated milk over it :)
Hmmmm ... favourite cocktail. At the mo, probably Cosmopolitans, or Whiskey Sours.
I remember that we concocted many vile cocktails when at uni; due to lack of funds, we were forced to invent cocktails out of whatever liquor we had left over after parties. One in particular stands out in my memory (or lack thereof) ... we called them Drunken Leprechauns ... irish whiskey and creme de menthe. Blech.
Of course, I suppose we could have just abstained. Unthinkable in those days.
My favourite is a Cowboy (also known by the less polite name of C***sucking cowboy, but I dont say that. No, really. I don't!). It is half Butterscotch Schnapps and half Irish Cream. Or Heather Cream. Or Highland Cream. Some sort of Gaelic cream at any rate.
BTW, PSD, Down Under Harbvey Wallbangers are known as a Protitutes drink. Is there something you're not telling us?
Main reason for me to move in together with my former flatmate was, that she is probably the best cocktail mixer in town. My favourite cocktail therefore is "Evi, mix something yummy for me, pleeeeease. Yes, with lotsa alcohol. Thanks" Second choice would be just plain and simple Caipirinha.

Favorite drink: hmmmm tangueray and tonic with a slice of lime for the summer, amareto sour for fall, hot chocolate with a shot of kahlua for winter and a margarita for spring.
There are just too many wonderful concoctions out there to only have one favorite.

Oooh, Tracy, another T&T girl...only I prefer mine with extra lime....and it has to be Tanqueray...definitely the smoothest of the gins.
I also love a good Toasted Almond which is really good quality Amaretto mixed with half and half... Mudslides are great - Kahluah, cream and creme de cocao (sp?) I think- and both of those are great in the winter...a little heartier.
but in general I love fruity drinks like Sangria and a good raspberry or lime margarita
Re: Hot chocolate with shot of Kahlua
- Try it with a shot of Batida (coconut liquor) instead. Wouldn't have thought that this fits, until we once tried because we've run out of any other alcohol during skiing vacations. It's really good.

I drink long vodkas all the time, usually - vodka, lemonade, lime juice and angostura bitter. But for some reason they don't seem to exist in England, even though they're perfectly normal here, and were in fact the first drink I drank in a pub.
Other cocktails - I have vague but happy memories of something called a Purple Haze; I like mudslides and that sort of thing; and I had something lovely with raspberries a few months ago. Er. I'm not very good with the names - I can never *remember*!
