I'm not making this up. Search on google if you don't believe me, or check these out:

What do you think? Spooky or what?

I've travelled on Skyrail when my best friend and I went to Ireland to celebrate his birthday. It isn't terribly exciting, I'm afraid.

Btw. There is a famous skyrail in Wuppertal, a town, which is not too far away from the Neandertal. (Tal means "valley" in German) I live quite close to it, but it's not really exciting.

I wasn't suggesting it was exciting, just that it existed.

I also saw 'Joffy's Electricals' shop in Sandown whilst I was there.

Just random commentage there really...

The skyrail in Wuppertal is famous for a circus elephant named Tuffi which fell out of it into the river in 1950.

I saw Wuppertal and instantly thought of Tuperware. Scary......

The Birmingham skyrail would be OK if there wasn't somebody who had sold the right to advertise in there - 90 seconds of what sounds like the voice over bloke from big brother trying to sell @#$%& holidays, it's quite horrible.

Thank GSD we don't have spoken advertizing on Sheffield's trams. Plenty of other advertizing though. One tram, sponsored by Meadowhall (a mall), is pink on one side, and blue on the other.

Last time Mum and Dad came to Sheffield, some of the trams had long posters on the side, advertizing Delia Smith's cookery book, with the slogan 'Delia on breasts and thighs'. One of Dad's bowling pals is a fan of Delia, and also of Norwich City, the soccer club she (mostly) owns. So Dad asked me if I could get hold of one of these posters for his friend, which I did. Dad was very pleased, but made the mistake of unfolding it on the dining room table.....I'd warned him it was 15' long.

What was the elephant doing on the Skyrail in the first place?

It was a stunt, designed to show how safe the monorail was. Er, it didn't work.

I don't know, if I were on a monorail and some berk tried to force an elephant onto it, I'd be more hopeful of surviving the experience if I was aware it could make a quick exit...

... as long as it didn't take the whole carriage with it... (?)

Maybe it just made a mistake and thought it had already reached Elephant & Castle station?

(actually, I've travelled on that "skyrail" in Wuppertal, and if poor Dumbo fell into the river that's one HECK of a long drop...)
