Ear Worm

This afternoon's ear worm is

"look at the king
look at the king
look at the king the king the king
The king is in the altogether
The altogether
The altogether
It's altogether the very least the king has ever worn"

Danny Kaye version natch.

I hope this helps get Danny Kaye out of your head:

OH, I see a man at the back
As a matter of fact his eyes are red as the sun
And the girl in the corner let no one ignore her
'Cause she thinks she's the passionate one

Oh Yeh, it was like lightning, everybody was frightening
And the music was soothing, and they all started grooving
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
And the man at the back said
Everyone attack and it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said
Boy, I wanna warn ya, it'll turn into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz

(For the fellas - think Tia Carrera in "Waynes World" rather than The Sweet)

That's The Court Jester, right? (the first one)

Hmmm…actually, I've had Beethoven's 5th Symphony stuck in my head since yesterday, since we listened to it in class. Kind of annoying, really--I love the music, but I'd rather at least have something I could sing along to.

No I think that was Hans Christian Anderson....?

Thanks SM, that worked quite well.

But now I have that Grace Kelly song going around.

Why don't you like me
Why don't you like me
Why don't you like me
blah blah blah

*shudder*

I have Fire in the Sky stuck in my head. Love the song but people keep asking why I look so sad....

with apologies to Claus for any spelling mistakes:

Wir fahren fahren fahren auf der Autobahn
Vor uns liegt ein weites Tal
Die Sonne scheint mit Glitzerstrahl
Die Fahrbahn ist ein graues Band
Weisse Streifen, gruener Rand
Jetzt schalten wir ja das Radio an
Aus dem Lautsprecher klingt es dann:
Wir fah'rn auf der Autobahn.

but have you had it sung at you, while you were driving, by a 7 year old on the back seat and just out of reach. If its now 3 points on your licence and £60 fine for using your mobile phone while driving, how much more distracting is my little poppet? and he's the hands free version.

This might seem unecessarily cruel, but.......

Agadoo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree,
Agadoo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee,
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees,
Come and dance every night, sing with the hula melody.

This one gets stuck in my head every time:

I'm 'enry the eighth I am,
'enry the eighth I am, I am,
I got married to the widow next door,
She's been married seven times before,
And every one was an 'enry ('ENRY!)
She wouldn't have a Willie or a Sam (NO SAM!),
I'm her eighth old man, I'm 'enry,
'enry the eighth I am!

Second verse, same as the first…
