Hmmm... I never bother doing that, on the grounds that my dad still hoovers outside my door at 9am when he knows i'm trying to get a lie-in...

I turn down the music a bit, though :o) (or, tonight, michael moore ranting on democracy now)

In this house, computer is cunningly close to downstairs loo. Also less cunningly close to door into sun room, meaning I have to stop what I'm doing and move when Mum wants to use door. Most annoying when playing minesweeper or Pickwick's memory game.

The only time I really get whinged at is when my younger sister decides to stay over, as she claims my typing keeps her awake. AS does the bass from the PC speakers, althoug only on two albums - Mezzanine by Massive Attack, and the Enigma Variations.

Strange world when those two meet together.

When my brother's down, I don't even get on the computer, cos it's in his room. And he still comes home *every**single**weekend* to play golf. It's not natural, I tell you.

Dante: how about buying your brother a membership at a golf club nearer to where he works as a birthday present ? If you phrase it right, you might get your parents to contribute. (Less laundry for your Mum, I bet)

Back when I was briefly in the Scouts (before I got too fed up with the hierarchy, & left them...) our troops' organisers taught us some songs for singing on journeys & around the campfire that probably wouldn't be considered "acceptable" by officialdom these days, such as 'The Quartermaster's Stores' (with improvised [& in some cases moderately rude] verses about various people who were known to the troop) and that old favourite 'Hitler Has Only Got One Ball'.

Not entirely sure what my Mediaeval friends sing around the campfire but have sneaking suspicion it wouldn't go down well with Boy Scouts. And it's the Wars of the Roses folk who have the silliest hats.

I'm pretty sure that most scouts would be singing something far ruder anyway. I know a few people who do War of the Roses re-enactments. Including a rather feisty archer who I've lost contact with, but she claims to be able to hit a groin from 100 yards.

simon - with reference to Hitler's testicular condition, Himmler was sim'lar, but Goebbels had no balls at all.

Would ability of fiesty archer to hit groins at 100 yards have anything to do with the fact you've lost touch with her ? Doesn't sound like the sort of woman you'd want to annoy.

T was cool, she was a bones expert in archaeology. She scared the hell out of blokes, and often left them covered in scratches. Strange girl, but entertaining.

Do I want to know how and when scratches were caused ?

A handsome man once told me I was a 'fascinating woman'. I went all weak at the knees. I've always wanted to be a fascinating woman.

A: I didn't.

B: When a bloke says 'fascinating' it's normally because he's aware that 'bloody strange' won't get you into bed.

I'd already surrendered to his charms on a previous occasion so he didn't have to say it to get a quick leg-over.

No - nobody say it! No matter how tempting it is!

Talk about leaving an empty goal...

EDIT--> Er, for a comment, that is. Nothing else.

Jon - No dirty words on the fforum, how many times must we tell you?

(first person to mention certain dark-coloured kitchen items will be frowned at...)

I'd have thought that asking another man 'Is it working ?' was a rather personal question.
