Diana wynne Jones had a novel called Deep Secret with a fantasy literature convention in ti- one of the fans in the book had the t-shirt that you have!

Herb from the books by Lauren Child* -- Who's Afraid of the Storybook Wolves and Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Book -- hilarious! Herb's tampering with the storylines suggests that he has the power to be Jurisfiction.
