I've no wish to hurry you luv
But have you seen the time
It's quarter to ten and we're supposed to be there
At nine
I don't think the registrar
Will be very pleased
When we show up an hour late
Like two frozen peas
Both now facing for the first time
Presently and past
Something that begins with M
And ends in alas
More than not complete disaster
Even from the start
What could it be...
It's Matrimony

....................... Sorry - that's not Gilbert AND Sullivan is it?!

In Pirates of Penzance the First Lord of the Admiralty, Sir Joseph Porter, sings a song in which the refrain includes the words

'so do his sisters and his cousins whom he reckons by the dozens'
especially his cousins and his aunts.

'Aunts' is pronounced in the English language fashion ie 'aren't' not 'ants' as the people of the new colonies would have it. (Read Roald Dahl's tale of what happens when yoyu mispronounce this word.)

Art isn't risky. Art is important, yes, but not risky.
I dont know why, but I get a bee in my bonnet about that, but it isn't like being out there fighting bush-fires. THAT is risky.

Depends on your definition of risk. I quote:

“In any society, the artist has a responsibility. His effectiveness is certainly limited and a painter or writer cannot change the world. But they can keep an essential margin of non-conformity alive. Thanks to them the powerful can never affirm that everyone agrees with their acts. That small difference is important.” – Luis Bunuel.

Try 'HMS Pinafore'

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

A picture is worth a thousand words. A chocolate is worth a thousand pictures.

Is that the one with

'A British tar is a soaring soul?'

Or am I way off base (again)?

What! Never!

Bet you a tenor that you're correct.

Best line in Pinafore is when Ralph Rackstraw is to be sent to the brig:

"Let him be to his dungeon shown.

No telephone...."
