I'm working on my thesis concerning the names in The Eyre Affair and I think I have found a nice name pun. I guess everybody remembers Ralph and Thea Swanavon playing in Richard III? Well, I have just found out that The Swan of Avon (exactly 'Sweet Swan of Avon) was a sweet name given to Shakespeare by Ben Jonson.

I guess it would be too big a coincidence not to be intended by Jasper.
