I Want To Work for Pixar

Boys and girls, check out the website for the newest Pixar movie.

I thought the Golden Compass site was good. And it is. But this is GREAT.

Edited because I just clicked on the 'privacy policy' and now I love the site even more

That's really cool! What's the movie actually going to be about, do you know? I didn't even know they had their next movie planned this far yet!

The website is a promo for the upcoming Pixar movie "Wall*E". Apparently it's about a robot who is left on earth to clean-up. It look's as though it is well and truly aimed at the "little people" - but lookng at this website you'd never guess.

from what I have read, the robot is the last one left and tries to "restore" civilisation.

Sounds like someone is plagarising 1940/50s science fiction.

Asimov had a couple of stories about this kind of subject, as did other writers whose names have been lost in the randoming effect of the alphabet over time.

Plagarising might be a bit too harsh a word. Tribute might be better, after all, a lot of sci-fi was taken from pioneering and fairy tales. That wasn't plagarising...

A rather nice term of ceramic origin is "clobbering" to take another's work/object and add your own twinkly bits and call it your own.

I found the website to be very flashy, but confusticating.

I couldn't open it. Dont think my poor old compy can handle lots of shiny newness.

Good idea. I could put some neons and pinstripes on it too. And maybe some mags...

Plagiarism? tribute? I don't care: it's from Pixar. When do I start queueueueueing?
(Sorry, got a bit stuck there.)

Bugger Pixar - for real art <Hopes to provoke outrage here> take another look at the early Disney animated pictures.

Snow White and the Magnificent Seven <plus remebrance of all the jokes like before Snow White turned up at the house the dwarfs all got Grumpy in the morning>; Randycilla; Fantasia <the original>; etc.

There is a combination of the actions of the human hand and mind and good story lines. And not a sign of a Danny De Vito inspired character with short cartoon character syndrome.

Hey, I liked the original sketches for Hercules. >:) Maybe not the way they turned out, but there could have been something good there.

Early Disney was good, despite ripping off all kinds of fairytales. :)

Disney is okay (fantasia was best). Warner Bros are better.
(especially yakko ;) )

Early Disney. They were pretty. I was amazed when I realised that the Jungle Book was from the 1950s or 60s.
