Why no signings in North Wales?
Posted by: nettie63 (89.241.174.---)

Hi All,
I'm new here so forgive my ignorance. I live in the north-west of the People's Republic of Wales and would like to know why Jasper never does book signings this far north, its not fair on the likes of us with restricted access (read difficulties travelling) crossing the border!
As far as I know (which is about 2or 3 inches I think) he's never even ventured as close as Chester
All suggestions gratefully received, and a rectification in the near future would be a bonus!
Cheers

Hi Nettie and welcome!

I suffered from the same affliction this year as the Great FF did not travel south...

LA Times Book Festival?

Still purchased FAS, dear Panjandrum. It had a nice little stand-up display, hidden behind the piles of Deathly Hallows...

Maybe the boarder guard are keeping him out?

Hi Nettie63. Welcome. Help your self to pie. The usual types in the unusual places.

JFf made it to Manchester, so perhaps Wales was closed for renovation? I travel down to Flintshire daily and it is getting a bit tatty at the edges, so maybe the road was just unravelled and he couldn't get in?

Go along to the Ffestival as ask him.

Hi all
Thanks for the advice. And,skid marks,Flintshire is very tatty but only because of its proximity to the capitalist enemy nation. Go through the chrono-tunnel at Llandudno and welcome to the land of milk and honey nut sheepflakes.

I admit the border patrol are a little over-zealous sometimes but I think Jasper could pass for Aled Jones at a pinch, with his back to the sun, dont' you?

Been thinking about the ffestival and could do with some advice...am mobile only by four wheel drive and wondering what the facilities were like for us duracell dizzies? (read disabled and electric wheelchair user)

And that's another thing, why aren't there any dizzzies the the nextian universe? We are sorely under-represented.

Hi Nettie!

Here's how I know it's time to go to bed-
I wondered why there would be ffolks posting about whales singing in the north-
I mean, it might make sense in the boardello (if you've read FLUKE, you'll get it)-
but here?

Yeah, definitely need some rest...

I'm still hoping there will be a stop between NC & TX the next time he tours the states-
it's hard to get authors to venture south of the Mason-Dixon line, but I'm working on it...

But I travel through a lot, I'll wave next time I'm there

Hi Nettie - having re-read the previous posts I realize the error in my interpretation!

I'll watch out for you waving though :-)

Hang on... Sheep-flakes?
<Makes mental note, when visiting rellies in Wales, bring own cereal>
Oh, and welcome, although I think comparing Jasper to Aled Jones is a bit cruel to poor Jasper!

Yes, TC. It is me who works in Flintshire. Broughton, where the very large plane takes bits of other planes to be stuck together in France.

Kitten: I was also wondering about that.

What, pray tell, are sheep-flakes?

sheep flakes, for hand washing your delicate woollens of course.

or very big snow flakes

or freeze dried and dessicated lamb, just add boiling water for a meaty snack.

or when you really know you have a dandruff problem

who knows.

personally I've always wondered about pony nuts.

Sheep flakes could be the result of an automobile accident?

Sheep flakes are what you get if you comb a lamb with a mandolin - culibary not musical.

Or playing Bagpipes to death metal.

That would kick sheep.
