I've lost track. Just what is the next Fforde book anyway? And any news on progress?

I think the great panjamdrum seems to have lost the plot as well but we hear he has been busy.

Maybe it'll be the legendary rope walking trapeze detective finally. With the pet seal.

Title (possibly) Early Riser
Fforde actually read from this book and talked about it at BristolCon, and con reporter extraordiaire Cheryl Morgan was there. She reports that it's actually set in a world where humans hibernate, the way bears do, sleeping through the winter. Except that a handful of humans, known as Sleep Marshalls, stay awake and keep watch while everybody sleeps — and the main character of the book is one of these people. And one of the people at the convention was a biologist, whom Fforde was excited to ask for more insights about the process of hibernation.

The Great Panjandrum has announced and promised to spend on day per month on maintaining the website.

The number of additions this year to date amounts to 2 (two), an overdraft that drains all possibilities of hearing further until February 28, no 29.

No statement has been made on the number of days (not sure whether the plural is justified) per month being spent on the new book, whatever its title.
