Last year the Ursine Self-Defence Bill was defeated in parliament by 602 to one, the single favourable vote cast by Sherman Barthlomew, MP, who along with Henrietta Hatchett, has done much to promote the arming of bears against illegal hunters and bile-tappers.

The bill might be dead, but we're not, and here at The International League of Ursidae we will be fighting tirelessly to allow the fundamental right to arm bears, or to force the judiciary to legislate against the hunting of bears, whether anthropomorphized or not.
