0: it is vegetable although some are mineral.
1: Is it living? No
2: Can it be bought in a tin? (I like the punny nature of the question!) It wouldn't harm it to be sold this way, but I have never seen one like that.
3: Is it smaller than a breadbox? No
4: Are they more likely to be found in a house than a garden? Well, as you would not keep it in a garden permanently, I think the answer is yes.
5: Can it be sat upon? (Is it furniture?) I will ignore the @#$%& attempt to get 2 questions in as one, 'cos I like you. Yes. (No)
6: Is it typically made of wood? Mainly yes
7: Does it have moving parts? Yes
8: Could I stand on it without damaging it? No
9: Is it primarily decorative (rather than being primarily useful)? Difficult: mine is very decorative, but that may be caused by lack of skill. When used properly it is still hardly useful, but for some enjoyable. On balance, probably No
10: Is it a piano? No.

Is it larger than a 200 litre breadbox?

Given the answer to number 9, I think MS must have been right with the guess of "piano".

Are you sure you don't want to rethink your answer to number 10?

I want to know where MistyCat can find bread sold in litres.

By "useful" I meant "functional", meaning something you can use rather than just look at. So if it requires skill to be used, then it is not primarily decorative. As a clarification to #9, does this statement agree with what you meant?

(Except now I think I'm more confused than usual.)

For my question:
Is its primary use/function/whatever to make noise?

I wouldn't worry about it - its obviously a piano.

BANJO! BANJO! Ooh, ooh, is it a banjo?

Edit: wait, I was thinking of George Formby, but his instrument was a ukelele, wasn't it? Change my guess to a ukelele!

(and geg thinks I'm obsessed with breadboxes...)

Pianos (and piano stools) fall from the sky in Thursday's world, remember?

<grin>
