I've never heard of any of the bands, either*. Well, except for the Rutles, of course. Not sure that interview with Mr. Wom is entirely kosher, you know .... I'd heard he doesn't give interviews.

* Not actually true. I have by some means of osmosis actually heard of the Bevis Frond. And Randy California. And of course I've heard of (hats off to)Roy Harper. But I've never knowingly heard of anything by them, and that's the important thing.

A friend of mine intends to take up proof reading and maybe indexing when she starts a family. That way she can work from home.

I've naturally done a fiar bit of proof-reading for my own novels. I read each MS carefully before sending it to the publisher, then it goes through the copy-editor's scrutiny. I double-check his corrections and the MS goes to be set for page-proofs. The proofs are checked again by copy-editor, myself, and the editor again. After this, the book is published.

When I got my complimentary copies of my first book, "Rocking W", I gazed on it in delight, opened it at random and promptly found a spelling mistake. Sigh.....

PSD - I have been considering your problem for a while (okay, that's a lie!) and I think you would do really well as a sports commentator. They earn truckloads here in Aus.

Not easy to get into, I suspect.

I once had a play with reading an autocue and did quite well. Some Geordie lass congratulated me on how I sounded like a proper presenter. That was fun, that was.

It seems pretty easy to get into over here. Of course, you need to be a high-profile athlete to begin with.....

Hmm, might have a problem there then...

Mines INFP. I'm a Pilosopher. Great. That means my life career involves hanging aroudn the fforum, waxing lyrical about the Universe in general. What more could I ask for?

I'm a comander...surprise surprise...I had to laugh though. I gave my husband what the options were and he said I'd be a commander before he even knew what my aswers were! I guess he knows me TOO well!

Philosopher - Quiet and reserved. Especially enjoy theoretical or scientific pursuits. Usually interested in ideas, with little liking for parties and small talk. Tend to have sharply defined interests. Need careers where some strong interest can be used and be useful.

Favourite/Best School Subjects: Art, Science

Commander - Hearty, frank, decisive leaders in activities. Usually good at anything that requires reasoning and intelligent talk. Well informed, enjoy adding to their knowledge. May sometimes appear more positive and confident than experience in an area warrants.

Favourite/Best School Subjects: English, Science

I guess that shows why you're here, Kaz, and why you run WN, AAC.

I'm a strategist, INTJ, although I'm near the N/S border.

BTW, there are any number of tests and questionaires you can do online to get your Meyers-Briggs type (the 4 letter code).

BTW, some versions refer to the INTJ type as the "MasterMind". Be afraid. There's a very good description (which fits me frighteningly well) here:

Even more fun, it includes fictional and real people with the same personality type you have. Mine is an intriguing (and slightly frightening) list.

Fictional folk with my personality type:

Cassius (Julius Caesar)
Mr. Darcy (Pride and Prejudice)
Gandalf the Grey (J. R. R. Tolkein's Middle Earth books)
Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs)
Professor Moriarty, Sherlock Holmes' nemesis
Ensign Ro (Star Trek--the Next Generation)
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (Hamlet)
George Smiley, John le Carre's master spy
Clarice Starling (Silence of the Lambs)

(There are links to other types at the bottom of the page)

Okay, the ENTJ - commander thing in that link Magda sent is EERILY true!! holy cow! other people who are ENTJ'rs:

Famous ENTJs:
U.S. Presidents:

* Franklin D. Roosevelt
* Richard M. Nixon

Benny Goodman, "Big Band" leader
General Norman Schwarzkopf
Harrison Ford
Steve Martin
Whoopi Goldberg
Sigourney Weaver
Margaret Thatcher
Al Gore (U.S Vice President, 1993- )
Candace Bergen (Murphy Brown)
Dave Letterman
Newt Gingrich
Patrick Stewart (STNG: Jean Luc Picard)
Robert James Waller (author: The Bridges of Madison County)
Jim Carrey (Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask)

Fictional ENTJs:

Geordi LaForge (STNG)

Cool.

One thing that really stuck out was the fact that ENTJ's tend to be able to improvise on the fly and that's probably one of my strongest attributes...nifty!

What would a hybrid of Patrick Stewart and Gandalf do?

INTJ's are in the top 1% of the population, ENTJ's in the top 5%.

So, AAC, planning on becoming President of the US, or Prime Minister of the UK?

I've read those pages now, and it looks like I'm leaning closer to ENTJ, but I wouldn't be very good at it. Like I can convince people to follow me to Hell and back. "Come on, I'll be your friend!"

I also noticed Filburt from Rocko's Modern Life was mentioned, as a Philosopher.
