I went to the release of WOLP and had all three of my books, TEA, LiaGB and WOLP signed and in to each one jasper slipper a postcard, i have a Dodo User's Manual, A 'Welcome to De ja Vu' one and a Juristech Mysepling Vyrus Respirator one. Apprently they are limited edition, i didn't know that. As well as the postcards jasper stamped each of my books, he had two stamps, on said Grammacite Free Zone etc and the othber was a Goliath apporved reading one. All very cool.

Jasper slippers postcards ? My mind is boggling.

I've reserved my place at the Leeds signing. Didn't get the shop's number off the website last night, because my connection crashed and it was late and I couldn't be bothered getting back on line again. So phoned Sheffield shop this morning - as have Sheffield Yellow Pages. Got number of large Leeds Waterstones from helpful person. Phoned Leeds, discovered I wanted the other branch, got their number, phoned them, got told:

"Our events manager will know about that. Would you like to speak to him ?"

Resisted temptation to answer "Gosh, no. I'd rather speak to someone who doesn't know anything about the subject."

Spoke to nice event manager, who has reserved a ticket for me. Warned him to expect a bunch of mad Jasper ffans. Really starting to get excited about it now !!!

Er .... do I have to reserve a place as well? I was just going to turn up kind of thing. I shouldn't have to book! *stamps foot* I'm the Official Stalker, dammit.

I thought we were all Official Stalkers, just different grades thereof.

Well resisted Skiffle!

Whenever I'm asked "How would you be spelling that?" with reference to my name or address, I have to fight the urge to reply, "Correctly."

Jon: The place holds 150 people. I bought ticket number 3 on Friday so I doubt you're in danger... I asked when I was buying tickets and he didn't expect it to sell out.

Somebody asked me today if I would be putting next wendesday on my calendar, and I resisted the urge to tell them that I find it much better value to buy calendars with the days already on them...

My name's Smith - you'd be amazed how many people say, "And now what are you really called?" Massive temptation to throw off cloak, twirl my hair in my fingers and SING: "I'm a Lumberjack and I'm ok"....

My driving instructor was called John Smith. You think his parents could have tried a *little* harder.

At the opposite end of the scale, I noted down some fantastic names from the old ES directory:

Tamara Finkenstein
Anike Faturoti
Eddyson Enabulale
Diana Ernaelsteen
Gavin Essoo
Althea Efunshile

If I wanted a weirder name I'd change back to the Polish.

Tiemieneski
Timyeinecksky
Tiemiineskiiski
Tiem..
Tim..
Tymie...

On second thoughts, I'll stick.

For some reason, I just got an e-mail from Dave, re WOLP postcards, telling me that he will be out of the office until the 21st, and giving his internal work phone number. ?.
