Ptolemy - I would never 'take the pith'. I'm shocked that you would think me so 'graceless'. (Yeah, yeah. the pun-gun won't get a work-out with me).
I check out eBay every couple of days for Jasper's books because they can be hard to get here. I've only just gotten my mitts on my own copy of TEA. I've been borrowing and reborrowing from the local library. I have a bid on a copy of LIAGB that's actually here in aus, but most sellers are either US or British and are selling their signed books for upwards of $75.00 US. WHY? why would you go thru the hassells of a book signing just to sell the book afterwards? These people are not dedicated enough!

I suppose they could be buying more than one copy, and then selling the extras.
I'm far to possessive of mine to ever sell them. In fact, I may have to pick up a US paperback of TEA for lending purposes, since I don't want to risk losing my signed trade paperback (Which says "For Magda, Thanks for the dodo, Jasper" in it).
Then there's the twit who told me I should sell my signed soft dodo on ebay. Sigh.

Magda, I can't help thinking it might be a good idea to take the offer up and sell your signed dodo just as fast as you can. Have you thought about what'll happen when it moults? It'd be next to impossible to piece together the signature again once the feathers are off I should've thought. Sell it now and make sure the buyer signs a no-comeback agreement - the next moult is due in September so you haven't got long....
