Ideas for Non-de-plumes

Hi All,
I've almost completed a children's novel (as part of my university studies) and am thinking of sending it off for publishing (on advice of my course director) but I'd want a really funky non-de-plume, a bit like Lemony Snickett.
I fancy Cinnamon for a first name (its what I imagine words would smell like) but can't think of a complimentary. ANy ideas??
And, no, you will not get part of any royalties, but I might just dedicate it to you all here on the Fforum.

Hmmm…I like Cinnamon as a first name, but it'd have to go with something really good as a last name for it to work. Sometimes fancy first names go well with short, nondescript last names like Smith or Brown, but I'm not feeling it in this case.

If it gets published, let us all know so we can read it!

Kind of agree: two fancy names sounds blatantly ficticious. So you could go for overly flat, or something striking or odd. Cinnamon Blott? Cinnamon Blake? Cinnamon Lake?

Hmmm. Cinnamon being cinnamon, it seems to flavour everything it's put into.

How about a lesser known spice? Like Tormentil? Gypsywort? Rue?

I kind of like Cinnamon Rue.

Ooh thanks guys and gals for the suggestions -

I originally wanted Cinnamon Prose but my other half said it was cheesy and obvious and a bit like purple prose, then I thought of Cinnamon Sunday but he said rather than the day, he thought immediately of the ice-cream (sundae).
Anyhoo, I have my dissertation to finish before May, my graduation (at the ripe old age of 44!) in June, and then I might get round to polishing it off and sticking it in the post...and brace myself for the rejections!

Now I am busy casting my characters from the 'spices & herbs' list I found. Fun stuff!

Nobody stating the obvious? OK, I'll bite:

Cinnamon Toast

Sounds like breakfast, I'll be off to the kitchen now...

I think if I got a book supposedly written by a Cinnamon Stick, I would wait for the crumbs to fall out of the pages...

(you know those crumbs that, when you shake them out, leave behind an awkward little circle of, well, fat)

Well, I had Cinnamon Bun in my head when I read the first post! Good luck with that, what age range are you aiming at?

Or for a slightly edgier sound, Cinnamon Styx.

Then there's the old game of coupling the name of your first pet with the name of the street where you first lived.

It's usually used to derive cheesy porn-star names but could feasibly be put to other uses, such as a children's author nom-de-plume.

I would be Pidge McPherson.

Hmmm…for me that would be "Butch Deer Creek". I'm not sure that's such a good idea…

Scarlett Lansdowne for me, probably not a suitable children's author nom-de-plume.

Somehow Scarlett Lansdowne sounds like someone who would saunter into a PI's office with a murder case.

I was always told first-pet Mother's-maiden-name but maybe people worked out that giving standard security information away so readily was a bad plan

Street name gives me Monty Adamson.

Then I would either be Cinnamon Mitzy (my 1st cat) or Cinnamon Warwick - actually that's not bad but I think it could be bettered

I think that Cinnamon Browne could be a goer - strange how reading that word leaves the taste in your mouth. If I go with streets / roads I get: Hammy Glen Dhu, an appaling older actor maybe.

Pipi Hohwiesen...I don't think so.

(It was a canary.)
