Dizzy sounds like a lovely first name.

<Said while friend named Diz holds brick in completely unrelated, certainly non-threatening manner>

<Wee smile as dread army of apolcalypse* sneak around behind Diz...>

*Hired earlier, just in case.

Dizzy Cinnamon - I think that just might do it

When we bred/showed Basset Hounds about 20 years ago there was a champion male Basset Hound who was called 'Sinnerman'. He scored zillions of showpoints but was a poor breeder. Our bitch only got one pup from him and he had to hand held while he mounted the bitch.

But he was great looking dog who could leer.

I just read the title of this thread correctly.

Should we have been discussing or ignoring the absence of pens in French?

Dont quite grab me skids, and I'm slowly killing the Cinnamon idea by over thinking - going off it big time. Anyone got ant fresh ideas?

A good character name that's obviously ficticious, but still not blatantly so, I've always felt, has to blend an absurd name with a not-so-absurd one. If you're struggling, why not flip through the phonebook to find any interesting ones (that's how Pratchett finds his names, I've read somewhere).

How's about Cinnamon Bunns? Bunns is a perfectly acceptable last name. I mean, in a world that can accept people called Krispin Metz (I laughed out loud at that one - Crystal Meths), Tess Tickle and Oliver Nerd, who's going to question Bunns? Just take care it doesn't sound like a naughty film-star, like Randy Hardwood, or (thank you Rowan Atkinson), Sukmiof.

I know you're a bit sick of Cinnamon, but I asked my son and he said 'Cinnamon Ark'.

Cinnamon Bunns is fantastic but it does sound a bit 'Carry On', especially if you had a slightly dodgy book title...

PS NON-de-plume - does it mean no author name is used at all?!

She has no feather yet to stick in her bonnet?

(That sure can't be Nettie!)

I'm growing more and more attracted to Cinnamon Bunns... But for some reason images of freckled buttocks keep springing to mind... Hmmm, I'm never going to look at a bakery the same way again...

Also evokes character traits:
Cinnamon Bunns - fresh, young, warm and spicy (in a not-very-spicy-suitable-for-people-not-used-to-Indian-food kind of way).

And why not introduce her Russian high-class vegatarian chef cousin, Howard Ulaik Sumorspenich?

On the pets....

Pixie Hillside.

Or, more currently, Lottie Melmoth. Well, technically Charlotte, but no one ever used it except my sister on the birth certificate she fashioned.

You could pay homage to the double-consonanted one himself:

Cinnamon Bbuns
Ruby Llips
Cutie Ppie

on the subject of odd names there was a NASCAR driver named Dick Trickle who was 'active' in the sport up to a couple of years ago.

Reference another thread where geological words were though to have potential as names - things like Igneous Petrology, Spodume, etc.

Geology names really means you are scraping the barrel. Although some have potential.

And is it not Spodumene? We could possibly mine this line of enquiry.

There's also a host of names of the combination type such as 'Truly Sparkling',
'Joy Fullness', and my favourite was a brothel in the US many years ago that had the telephone name entry under the name of the person: 'Kate Forni'

Are the 'two sacks' mentioned Bond girls from earlier movies?
