Minsky update: the poor chap is not in a good way today. He is very subdued, and it turns out there _was_ an infected wound - worse still, there is a loose flap of skin now that the thing has burst. Eeeeeew. So I am cleaning him up with mild saline solution at regular intervals until I can get him to the vet (when he will be given a shot of antibiotic and recover with his usual aplomb).

This is clearly the result of a fight. All I can say is, I don't think I'd like to see the state of the other cat.

Sarah: thought it might be an infected wound. That happened to Shiraz once. We kept it clean with salt water and it healed just fine. Messy business though. Hope Minsky recovers soon. Has Wilfred offered to wash it clean with whiskey ? Or is that a waste of whiskey ?

Coo, isn't it quiet with me and Skiffle talking privately?
hope minsky gets better soon.

Edit--> In case you're wondering what level the conversation is at, I'll offer you one quote...

PSD: gee, thanx for dropping hints about private conversation. Do that sort of thing again and you'll be limping for a lot longer than you thought.

Sarah: POOR MINSKY!!! I hope he feels better. Poor baby. Poor mom. (I have to take Loki to the vet today, as well. I think he has a clogged tear duct in his eye and it's turned into a hard lump and seems to be a bit painful. And I need to get Odin weighed, as it's his 1/2 birthday and I need to make sure he's on track for his breed.)

just back from vet...

Yep, Loki had a blocked tear duct that seemed to right itself overnight, but will have to have antibiotics and some ointment for a week or so.

Odin weighed in at 8.8 lbs! He just turned 6 months old! But he's right on track for his breed, which is great. And he wasn't humileated...he LOVES all the attention the vet-techs give him everytime we come in. He just eats it up. He ain't stupid! LOL

Skiffle - Only hint that's escaping... And I made sure it was dubious enough to be worrying, but not so dubious as to be incriminating...

A glowing Mathmos brick is one of these buggers:

Very pleased to relate that Minsky has made an amazing recovery - I don't know what that cat has in his immune system, but if I could identify it I'd be a millionaire by now. He didn't even need to go to the vet. You would hardly know there had been anything wrong, except that the fur on the right side of his face is still a bit matted.

AAC: Hope Loki is better soon. I don't envy you having to give him eye ointment... :-(

Good about Minsky. Moggies are tough, aren't they.

Nah, denim wouldn't suit him

ha, and is it isn't too much effort, ha...

There's a great kid's book with a rock-star cat - and he looked great in denim, so naah!

PSD, that gives me a 404, but I assume you mean this:

Denim might suit a rock star cat, but it wouldn't suit Minsky

Magda - I cut and pasted it, so no idea why it 404'd...

I agree with Skiffle. Minsky is definitely a sharp suit and shades man. He is one of the Cats in Black.

Very odd, unless they updated the website in the interim.
