Hate to go on about following the wrong Rankin here (cue Martin) but for popular murder mysteries, you can't do worse (W is for Worse).

Come on how is there any body left alive in Midsummer Worthy? They should all be either locked up or dead by now, shouldn't they?

Jessica Fletcher.

This is a valid point, but apparently when they tried to cut down on the body-count people complained.

I still like them.

Which one?

Well, that is just a case of trying to kill as many people^H^H^H^H^H^H^H faceless goons of the bad-guy's army as possible.

The Midsomer murderers are more personal affairs.

evil dead III is good for body count, unless you prefer realism...

There is only one:

The films are called
First Blood
Rambo: First Blood part II
Rambo III
Rambo (and it has an ENORMOUS body count of >230)

I just watched Woody Allen's 'Bananas' last weekend and Sly was in it in a very early film appearance as a hoodlum. Not a body count in sight.

Does anyone have any other really unexpected early appearances to throw into the mix?

Mel Gibson, straight out of NIDA, appears as a crazy young mechanic in "The Cars That Ate Paris". Paris is a small, fictional Oz town where the local economy is based on cannibalising any vehicle that happens along. Filmed at Sofala, NSW, it is the town's only claim to fame apart from the fact that it's not far from Bathurst and civilisation.

Everyone's also familiar with Jack Nicholson as the masochistic dental patient in the first make of that plant film.

I've also seen, on TV years ago, Errol Flynn's first role as a brooding, romantic Fletcher Christian in the early talkie, "Mutiny on the Bounty". Filmed on an obvious stage set, bits of the scenery wobble delightfully at times. Flynn was actually a pirate in the South Seas, not long before this. When I was in New Guinea in the 70's, I had a drink or two in his favourite Port Moresby watering-hole, charmingly called "The Snake Pit" - it still lived up to its name remarkably well.
