Since this is the fourth game in a row that looks a little doomed, does anyone have a suggestion for how to make it a little tiny bit easier?

15 A household appliance? No.
14 Multicoloured squares? No.
13 Used by children? Yes, not exclusively.
12 Comprised of paper? No.
11 Electronic? No
10 Scissors? No.
09 Made of metal? No.
08 Shape considered ugly? No.
07 Use batteries? Nac ydw.
06 Practical rather than decorative? Yes.
05 Moving parts? Yes.
04 A cup? Nope.
03 Edible? Strictly speaking, no.
02 Bigger than a breadbox? Not usually.
01 Animal? Definitely not.

Wondering if there is another way to say this... Hmmm. No. Oh Well.

ES, this is a game of logic. I don't know how many logical people are on this list... (grin) So I'm not sure the game can be made any easier. If no one guesses the object, perhaps you could offer to run the game again, or let someone else take over. Or we could play 30 questions.

Or we could allow cheating. Perhaps cheating is already allowed and I just didn't know. Hmmm. Oh Well.

<Wondering if the rules for 20 questions was posted if that would help, or if everyone would studiously play against the rules.>

<Hoping someone will point me in the direction of curry-less sweet pie, but I don't dare ask for fear of wasting a question.> <It was hard to write this and not ask any questions, I'm hoping a massive dose of sugar will help me recover.>

Is the object made of plastic?

The strict rules permit answers like Yes or No, with the variations "I don't know" and "I can't answer."
I think that you can make it easier to whatever degree you choose with answers such as:
Quote:
Inquiring Mind: <Wonders if new girlfriend is after 20 questions object, or attention. Decides not to waste question 7 finding out.>
QuestionMaster: <She has her own>
That gave useful information. If your answer had been, "We each have our own that we carry around with us, but hers has different numbers on it," then the game would have been more than a tiny bit easier. As QuestionMaster, you're the boss. Make it as easy or hard as you like.

17 Do you usually carry yours with you?

Is it something that would be carried around on one's person on a daily basis (e.g. cell phone, wallet, keys)?

Also, what does "nac ydw" (the answer to question 7) mean?

Nac ydw is one of thw Welsh terms for 'no'.

17 Usually carried around on one's person? Let's say 'yes', on journeys.

<has been thinking frantically of a plastic object with moveable parts, though not electronic, not ugly, but less decorative than practical, which one carries on oneself on journeys, but less so at home; - nothing came up for the last few days>

<does a merry jig>

I was sure it would be easily gotten!

<Still thinking about "moving parts." The bristles on a toothbrush could be said to be "moving parts." (Definitely not edible, though.) Small enough to be carried about, on a journey. Probably not plastic explosive, or the "moving parts" would need qualification.

Made of plastic, moving parts, useful.

ES, a well-spoken resident of the United Kingdom, uses the word "gotten" (whilst jigging in jocund joy.) There has to be a clue there.

Thinks.>

No clues were intentionally tendered by use of the word 'gotten'.

Worries.

*intentionally*

hummmmm.

I was absolutely certain it was a credit card until I remembered "moving parts". Dang.

<bags are made of plastic. they move. not sure if *parts* move. hummmmm.>

Hmmm... bags... tyrants... SMERSH...

<I have been thinking as well of a bag, or rucksack; with a zipper it would definitely have moving parts. I discarded it on the basis of the size argument: Most bags are usually bigger than a breadbox - unless ES had a very large breadbox...>

Actually I don't have a breadbox, but that's irrelevant. Hard to contain myself.

<SMERSH?>

<tyrants?>

<clues? or random words thrown out?>

<thinking: OK. Varies in size, usually smaller than a breadbox. Not really edible, but it's plastic. So does that mean a person can physically swallow it, but it would not be a happy memory? It has moving parts. Can be, and sometimes is, carried about on one's person. It could occur to you to take it with you on a journey. (Long journey? Short journey?)

So, edible means something you can eat. which is different from drink. now, "strictly speaking", *water* is not eaten, it is drunk, or drank, or drinked, I really dislike that verb...

a bottle of water could be "smershed" if you take that as a funny way to say smush or smash... if that was a clue>

<scratching head>

<lids come off, that would be a moving part>

<there are those large bottles of water that go on top of dispensers, that would be bigger than a breadbox, and they are not "usual", they are definitely in the minority>

still not decided, but our network is really having a bad day, I'm going to post this before I lose the whole train of thought...

<off for a little silent deliberation...>

Anyone ever played 'Mr X'?

SMERSH, tyrants, Mr X. All very James Bond, but all that's coming to mind is a small plastic bottle containing a well-shaken vodka martini.

Somehow it doesn't seem quite fair to fish for clues like this without an occasional game-level guess, so here goes.

19 Is it a container?

I have played a board game called Scotland Yard, where one person plays the criminal "Mr X" and everyone else plays the detectives trying to catch him. Is that what you're referring to?
