So, there you go then Dave. He still loves you, it's just you haven't run out of conversation yet.

Amongst other things...

good job, or we'd end up married too. Eddie might get confused.

Right, sort out a time and place. Did I mention that the Best Man has to organise the groom in perpetuity? :-)

Getting married is what you do when :

a) You buy a house and your girlfiend won't move in until you get married
b) You want to have children and your girlfriend won't until you get married
c) You really love your girlfriend and want to be with her constantly

Not all need apply, not in that order anyway :)

Oh and :

d) You have broadband at the new house but you are always at your girlfriends who doesn't

Answers on a postcard please.

Town ?? Or elsewhere ?? I guess we should really do this off line.

I handed over the responsibility to Kate with the wedding ring.

Fforumites getting married ? Can I come and throw confetti/tomatos/insults ? (your choice).
My friends Ed and Krissy got married last year and had a ceilidh in the evening. It was fantastic fun.

At Dave's wedding, I was obliged to flirt outrageously with all the women. (Part of the best man's duties.)

I even had my bum pinched by a very attractive young lady (who was married unfortunately).

luckily for Rob we tracked down the young lady in question and made her give it back.

i) when you move into a house that has a lawn that needs mowing
j) when you decide you want to be a lady of leisure and spend your days on the Fforum and you need someone to monetarily support your endeavor.

I'd like to be a lady of leisure. (All half-sensible offers at least looked at). And I'd really like to have 'a woman who does'.

we've got one. she's great. even does the ironing if she's got time. I can highly recommend it, despite protesting that it was a waste of money etc.

It's not. It means I can spend my weekend doing important stuff like playing footie with eddie rather than cleaning/hoovering/tidying up.

BTW, so far as the language differences go, hoovering isn't a verb here in the States. Hoover is one of many brands of vacuum cleaners (vacuums for short), and the task is called vacuuming.

So I can claim that there is a vacuum in my coat closet (which I suppose means that nature abhors it).

However, all facial tissues are referred to as kleenex, and in some parts of the south all carbonated beverages are referred to as coke.

yes, well, there is always the danger that 'hoovering' might be interpreted as a) allowing unemployment to reach record levels or b) dressing up in women's clothes whilst rooting out Communist subversion.
