Ah, the joy of a good tpyo.

And of course a bedroom may be referred to as a bedchamber. Does this mean you have lots of chamberpots ?

Are rowin' pots the ones you throw when you have a row?

Well, most of them are pewter, so they won't shatter...

I have no rowing pots. I nearly won a 'blade' on two occasions.

PSD: Do you win blades up at Durham ?

I do however have a T-shirt with 'Who needs seven layers of skin ?'
accompanied by a picture of my bandaged hand. Kind of sums up
rowing to me.

Naah, we didn't get blades.

I managed to nick one from my old school though - a lovely 1950's job, with the original leather collar and everything. Only problem is fitting it in the house...

Yeah. A couple of pictures of the old crews takes up enough space.
An entire blade would be tricky.

Having said that, if I won one, I'd have found space !

you could build a special 'blade shed' in your garden. We could sit in there and drink tea and witter on about the world.

Just as a change from sitting in your front room doing the same, obviously. With more fresh air.

Aye. I like the fact it's now sunny enough to sit outside and drink tea.
Also it's light in the evenings. Fantastic. Especially now I've got to get fit
for the Leeds Corporate Marathon...

ah, you're only doing about 2 miles in it!

Ssh. Don't tell everyone. They might think I'm all fit and healthy...

whoops, put that chicken away missus.

The weather is indeed v.lovely. I can see acres of blue sky out of the office window. And I'm stuck inside. Boo. The boss is off sick though, so it's nice and quiet.

Phew. I think we got away with that.

I have the same problem. Stuck inside, looking out at the sun. It was a nice cycle into work this morning though. A little cold but pleasant enough.

So, only two miles then, Rob? Why's that then? (apart from the fact you're not barking mad, that is).

The computer network manager came up to me and said 'Rob you'll join us in the Leeds Marathon won't you ?' Well, you can't say no to an offer like that...

I found out later it was only 2 miles. I assumed we'd each be doing 4-5 miles which is tolerable. After that it just gets dull and I'd rather be out on my bike (or skiing although we don't have the snow for that in Leeds).

A Corporate Marathon, presumably of teams running short stages (or in shifts !). Do you stop for meetings along the way ? Is there a motivational speech at the beginning and a presentation with slides at the end ? Who writes the report afterwards and does everyone get a copy ?
The mind boggles....
