Isn't facebook addictive? I always thought I could resist, but I end up being on it for 10 minutes a day... Mostly adding books I've read, reading and want to read. I'm trying to see how many I can compile (it is annoying that some books still aren't on there). So far I'm up to 208 books.

Heh. The university put an error message up about Facebook. And warn you about how much bandwidth it uses.

I agree with you, Martin - I fail to see the point of Facebook but if uni don't want you to use it, why not just stick a filter in the firewall and block access?

Freedom of internet use. They do not restrict access except in terms of bandwidth. Aside from that, your quota is yours to do with as you will. So they will not stop you getting anything from the net, although warez and such are against the AUP so if they check on you, you can be in major trouble.

(We get a maximum of 420MB every two weeks on a sliding scale [normally, there are times of the day when you can get quite a bit more]) You get slowed down more and more as you download/browse more.

Martin, you must be paying for those 420MB somewhere in your fees. If not, then your uni funding system is a lot better than here. As far as I know, uni students here buy online time in advance and don't get any as a free portion.
