I have just hand-delivered a solicitor's letter to the Tribunal office in Sutton via Hastings DWP - of course I have! But that's what I mean, see - I want to push the button all right, but selectively so I can watch those little worms squirm and keep all the cute jazz pianists with tight bums chained but standing. I just can't see the fun he was going to have, sitting there in his motorised wheelchair with the 'No power tools kept in vehicle overnight' sticker on the back, watching all the stars blink out one by one. No fun in that. If you want to see boredom, go to Bognor.
Everyone knows that real, genuine evil megalomaniacs only want to have fun. That's why god gave them cackling laughter and white pussies.

Even though I'm a fan, and incidentally thoroughly enjoyed the season finale, could I remind people IT'S A KIDS PROGRAMME!

Heathen!

What else are we supposed to get obsessed with in the incredibly long Ffordian Gap? Still twelve months at least until the next book... Gibber gibber neep neep squack.

Well there are a few other authors. (Sorry, but it is true.) Ask Zenda about Chris Moore, for example.
Lots of movies.
1 maybe 2 decent t.v. series.

Doesn't that mean we'd have to wake the others up again after the 'Doctor Who' mania? It's going to take a super piece of pie to activate all those brain cells again.

A debate on Chandler vs Hammett? A question on whether 'The Muppet Show' is still good enough to buy on dvd? What have we all planned or done for the holidays?

Might I recomend Firefly, you'd have to get it on DVD now, or look for it on the Sci-Fi channel if you have cable/sky?

For writers Hiroku Murikarmi ?

198505, were you the one who recommended Haruki Murakami before, as I added him to my Amazon book list ages ago and I'm waiting to accumulate some cash for a big purchase of various things. He shall be followed up.

Does anyone know of a good beginners level piano music book?

Er - officially no, not any more. It actually comes under the heading of 'family entertainment,' meaning it's a program with some adult content, but suitable for younger viewers so long as they're watching with a responsible grown-up. A bit like Ballamory, or anything with Jeremy Clarkson in.

Family entertainment and kids programme are almost synonyms, aren't they?

While it might look at the odd serious issue, it is still primarily a way of giving kids a good fright and those of us who have never grown up the occasional shiver. (Steven Moffat episodes being the best examples.)

My point was that everyone was getting deeply serious (po-faced) and analytical (nit-picking) about a piece of light entertainment that rarely takes itself too seriously.

At the risk of getting serious again, I would suggest that Doctor Who is closer to kids programmes that true family entertainment, which doesn't really exist anymore here.

The only things I would class as true family entertainment in recent times would be the Pixar movies. They work on multiple levels and actually legitimately entertain different generations of people. They're brilliant! What else is true family entertainment at the moment?

Incidentally, Wall-E is supposed to be absolutely terrific! Long live Pixar! (And John Ratzenberger!)

Well, Eastenders for a start (thinks: rape ... gangland shootouts ... drug overdoses ...) I was going by the similarity of positioning in the evening schedules but yep, I take it all back. Both are kids programs. Definitely. No doubt about it, if you're a UK mini-citizen in the naughty noughties!
