I must confess that belonging to the "seekers of a higher order of truth" has an appealing sound to it...

LOL, I think the entire audience for that book is already on the fforum.

Because inquiring minds want to know, I Googled the phrase "seekers of a higher order of truth"

Given the frighteningly large number of assorted quasi-religions in the world, make a guess on how many tens of thousands of hits, then try it.

I think that BK may have hit the nail on the head - everyone interested is already here. The Treehouse may just be the next revolution in world literature.

I have tried repeating bits of what I've read here to friends that I thought would *understand*, and each one of them has edged quietly away. They come back eventually, but they seem to keep one hand on the cell phone. At least I think it's a cell phone. It might be a stunner.

My darling, tolerant, husband just doesn't ask what I'm reading, and when I do start talking about it, he feigns sleep. He is a very smart fellow.

I think if we wanted to print any of this, it would only sell if Jasper took an interest and signed each copy or something. But it could be fun. Who wants to draw the accompanying cartoons?

and good though the idea is, how would you sort out the copyright issues?
(If someone does decide to do, may I suggest proceeds to a charity. Dementia seems appropriate.)

I had a feeling that the entire set of members of 'the highest order of truth' would be on the fforum already.

So don't publish and not be damned.

Awful joke approaching:

What is yellow and can't swim?

Your suggestions please, because they will probably be funnier than the received answer.

Actually, and the barman says might interest others. The only problem with the rest of it is that we have an awful lot of in-jokes that it's a bit unfair to expect others to immediately get without the background.

3. An upside-down duckling.

4. ???

Drat. How could I miss:

I'd like to know the original answer, though.

I'd never heard of:
JCB: An earthmoving machine made by the J. C. Bamford (JCB) company

Down here in NZ we have branches of the world-wide Caterpillar Co.

BUT!

Back in my university years we had a joke in the Physics/Maths faculty:

What is green and can fly?

The answer was Green in the plane, shorthand jargon for Green's theorem in two dimensions. The Divergence theorem is sometimes called Green's theorem in space.

The Dancing Diggers are worth a look if you don't know about JCB

An aside: When they sold the movie "The Castle" to the US all the references to JCB's had to be dubbed with some name meaningful to the US market. The same with motor vehicle names.

Does any other country admit to being so insular and ignorant that they cannot work out what is being referred to?
