Thursday Nextreme

Holly Austin

Deep within the haunted catacombs of the Historic Carson City Mint we find the resident Nextaphile. This smallest branch of the U.S. Mint operated between 1870 and 1893 and currently houses the Nevada State Museum.

The bathtub is the last vestige of a World War II civil defense hospital located in the safety of the old mint basement. The hospital was never put to use; whether anyone ever took a bath in this tub is unknown, but I wouldn't recommend it at present.

This room is part of an original vault. It is also dank, filthy, creepy (Spike would be right at home), and off-limits to all except a very lucky few who sneak down with their favorite novel.
