Newest Who

Thought the latest (in UK, anyway) Dr Who episode was highly significant to this site. Largest library in the universe, books that are alive, wierd little girl who seems to have invented all this inside her head, and yet people can go there (a kind of 'negative' of Thursday Next, I suppose) and ... Shadows! That gobble people up!!! And there's no Babylon 5 spaceships involved!!!!
I've read Daily Mail poetry that's had the same effect.

It's when Cliff Richard's face appears in one of those statue things that you really want to start worrying, in my opinion ...

Are the gobbling up shadows derived from the movie 'Ghost?

No, it's something in the darkness that's doing the gobberling.

Elements of Iain M Banks as well, people being saved in the computer, the skeleton in the space suit, and I can't mention the last bit as I feel that that would be a major spoiler.
But yes 2 of my favorite writers ... inspiring Dr Who.

I can't wait for the next one! I'm so very excited!!

And regarding the spoiler... My aunt actually suggested that it might happen, but later on in the series, and I was all 'Oh noes, dpn't look suspicious, she might think it's actually happened!!'

Right, I think I've got it. So, my hard drive is really this stroppy little kid, right, who throws a tantrum whenever I try to use a program she doesn't want to watch, hardly surprising as she might just possibly be one of mine, along with a few of her mates in there. It figures, bearing in mind how much the little mare has cost me over the past few months, as well as all those unwanted cookies I keep acquiring. S'funny, because last time I tried to save an photo of my physiogomy into 'My Space,' I could have sworn I heard the processor scream at me. A behind-the-sofa moment, if ever there was one.

Following part 1 of the season finale, this thread title takes on a whole new significance, don't you think?

Confused.com signing in.
So, he wipes her mind completely, as in nothing in there at all except space, yesno? She wakes up and promptly starts calling up all her mates for the latest goss.
Ah, she's an Essex temp. He's just put everything back to normal. Gotcha.

No memories of her time with the Doctor no.

Yes, apparently because her human body couldn't take the pressure of having a Time Lord essence within it. Mutter mutter.

<Begs reality for no more Dalek stories for a long time>
<Same goes for Cybermen>

Is Donna really gone forever?

I knew that really, just couldn't resist the Essex joke!

But Davros - I mean, WHAT WAS HIS MOTIVATION?! Be a multiuniversal megalomaniac by all accounts; play Time Teams with the planets yes, maybe even use them for billiard practice (though I'd up the ante to 49 and put lottery numbers on them first) And yep, I can definitely see the malicious joy in putting 300 civil servants in a large room and playing Trojans Mah Jong with the ones that match, but ...
He was gonna wipe out everything and everybody, right? The Daleks, the Tardis, all matter right down to his very own dangly bits if he's got any. I mean, what was the point???!!! Every James Bond fanatic knows the evil villain has got an end sight to his plan - but he's always got a few henchmen left over, a big bag of gold to go with the big bang, a chance for more maniacal laughter. But with Davros there isn't anything! Look at Charles Manson, Adolf Hitler, Geri Halliwell ... they all had a reason for their evil insanity. Reality bomb? More like unreality overload, I call it.
