Sealing fat: not quite as good as sealing wax at holding envelopes closed or bearing the imprint of a signet ring.

I have found that if you impress the sealing was with a signet you get (1) feathers in the wax and (2) bird sh*t on the document or envelope.

By the time you've converted it into a ring, it's long since past the stage of feathers and digestive processes...
