"Also what letter would bring the impression of a deep fried mars bar?"

Some eldritch symbol, left unwritten in the texts of man, and found only in the darkest etc...

Noonlight is a great word: it sounds like the bright sunlight of a summer's day, with a hint of mystery and romance.

BA - I can sense one of the major perfume companies already preparing to release "Noonlight" as their latest fragrance!

Quick, get a lawyer and patent/copyright/trademark it.

It's too pleasant a word to have some pong attached to it. And for us to be harrangued by some bimbo actress who can barely say her name and wouldn't know how to cross the road without a minder but poncing about on the screen saying how wonderful it is.

Act now or forever hold your complaints!!!!

Wow! I love hearing stuff like that! Thanks for letting us know that Musesusan!

I can't remember which famous painter heard sound as colour. I find it really handy for cooking, get lots of ideas for blending flavour ^_^
Speaking of noonlight, in the Adams Family they always talked about moonburn.

Loads of them, evil- loads of them :)
Probably thinking of Kandinsky, who was said to have synaesthesia- I don't think it was ever proven though.

John Lennon I think may have mentioned something of the sort.. Probably substance induced.
Speaking of getting the senses mixed up.
Mum twice heard music when she saw rain drops on flowers.

Heh. The Beatles were so high it was not even funny.

"Ringo's high again. Someone get him down from the ceiling. No, hook his bell-bottom! Hook his bell-bottom!"

"Hurry up! He said he wanted to do something about a yello tambourine."

At least that is how a friend puts it.

Richard Feynman definitely described seeing equations and formulas (and presumably other letters and numbers) in colors.

Going back to Kandinsky, we were talking about synaesthesia and he thought shapes had specific colours.
I think triangles are green. Anyone else?

Rubber Soul is definitely preferable if you find yourself caught in a lightning storm.

Triangles are yellow. Squares are sort of orangy-brown. Rectangles can range into purply-red tones, but the closer they are to square, the more orangy-brown they get. (If you make them sufficiently large, however, both rectangles and squares turn dark blue.)
