0) It is usually vegetable, but frequently vegetable and animal. There is no reason why it could not be mineral, but that is not normal.
1) Is it edible? - In the strictest sense, yes.
2)Is it bigger than a breadbox? not usually, but quite a few are.
3)Does it have moving parts? Again, in the strictest sense, yes.
4) Would it normally be used in the kitchen? Not normally, but some varieties are quite at home there.
5)Does one buy it at the supermarket? inorder to satisfy your desire for a simple "yes" or "no".....
5a) CAN one buy it at the supermarket? Yes
6) Does it require electricity? No
