0) It is largely mineral though it has some vegetable constituents.
1) Is it bigger than a breadbox? Yes.
2) Has it ever been turned into a human through an accident with a DNA transmogrification device? No, fortunately not. Not that I know.
3) Would it go through a tunnel in the normal course of events? No/Yes. Some of them do so as a matter of routine, but most don't.
4) Is it self-powered? No.

8) Does one buy it at the neighbourhood supermarket? No. The vast stores in the fields do sell them, though certain types are only found in specialty shops.
Please refer to the Wikipedia description of Supermarket. What I plastically called "vast stores in the fields" would be hypermarkets, or (in somewhat different forms) big-box stores, superstores, supercenters, megastores, malls.
Like my giant local Walmart? It's kind of scary. It has an entire top floor (where the main entrance is; it's built on a hill) of clothing, toys, electronics, kitchen items, etc., and then you go down an escalator that can accommodate your shopping cart and the entire bottom floor is a supermarket. When I first saw the shopping cart escalator, I thought I was in a Goliath-owned store.
Don't most escalators accomodate trolleys? Except the step ones? Or are they giant step ones (in which case, wow, that could be fun!)
re. Numbers, I means are numbers a key feature.
