<stares bemusedly at large pile of amazing collection of... well, I'm not sure what>

<can't decide what that, uh, err, smell is, either>

<sees Speckles looking bored, decides that is Not Good, and goes off where it's allowable to speak. asks Speckles for an update on what I slept through>

Welcome VM back effusively

Explain to her how the world has changed since she dropped off

Try to explain about the game of games that took place while she slept

Give up when she thinks she's missed the Olympics

Give her a ginger pontefract cake (the last one)

<Good Vibrations>
<quivers>
<recalls Beach Boys 1966? ... I would have been about 22 years old. It must have been just before Procul Harum's "A Whiter Shade of Pale", which sent more good vibrations down my spine than anyone else (OK, maybe some early Queen, or possibly a Supertramp item (or two) or assorted versions of "Pie Jesu" (Lloyd-Weber, Mozart, Fauré,... I've never heard a version I didn't like...) Bach... BACH!! Quivers!!! Goldberg!! Grand Chaconne! (Chaconne in D minor, BWV 1004... Guitar, John Williams (and at least 12 others I have in my collection)) Krönungsmesse!!! (that Mozart guy) ...) apart from maybe a few others I don't recall right now...

<Loses track of parentheses, train of thought, sanity, ignores (forgets) topic, feels desperate need for music, rushes to collection, panics to prioritize, settles for... Leo Kottke's Waltz... Aaaahhh. That's better.>

<Carry on. Move along. Nothing to see here. Show's over... Shuffles track... That faint background sound of Gregorio Allegri's Miserere (How the hell can he reach that note without severe internal damage? You know the one I mean.) is just me winding down.>

<Selects autorepeat>

<Twitches>
<Ignores 20,000th aftershock.>
<Quivers>
<Wonders if self managed to retain the sub in subvocalise.>
<Shrugs>

re enters treehouse

observes pile of unspecified material in room and Speckles with innocent look on face

forms opinion that the two may be linked

offers no audible comment as Speckles now has shovelful of unspecified substance.

Hopes it is no worse than a congealed pie floater

exits to world outside treehouse where intelligent conversations are extremely rare.

Musical Director? Moi? Such power!

Right now! Youse Breves and Semibreves! Quit that slouching! Pick it up, now! Youse Minims over there! Quit picking on that Crotchet! It's not his fault. And You! That HemiDemiSemiQuaver there! Don't think I didn't see you scuttling about over there! Get back over here before I handcuff you to the ledger line, you see if I don't! You think I won't Clef you! Double-quick, now!

I don't know. You just can't get the Staff any more.

<Thinks: Oh bugger. May have vocalised silent dream of power, abrogating situational requirements. Possibly becoming unintereting, despite ecelctic interests.>
<Panics (quietly)>
<recovers>
<shrugs, accepts demotion from Directorship, looks about for successor.>

enters treehouse

sees interesting modern art presentation on walls, ceiling, floor and one side of Speckles

sits down with pie marked 's'for 'suspect' and considers art.

remembers philosophical definition of art: deliberate action by a conscious mind

thinks it applies here, although from previous posts is suspicious of 'deliberate' action in regards to ES becoming exploded.

listens to Utopia Ltd and wonders if the Royal exp,oders from that work have infiltrated the Treehouse

If so, then is art, otherwise an interesting side effect of an action

exits treehouse leaving pie behind

goes in search of a Cherry Ripe

Find some scales on the floor

Assemble the tune of Cherry Ripe except for the last chord

Provide speckled Speckles with a trumpet and clear in the direction of off
