Stacks! Help yourself.

(They are next to the rhubarb and strawberry pies. You should try them. They are truly something special.

As we have some left-over venison from Christmas dinner, there may be a game pie along soon.

Merry Boxing Day to anyone passing through here.

We first came across the combination as an ice cream flavour in Switzerland, then discovered it as a jam.

It is an amazing taste, We would recommend anyone who sees it to try it, unless they are allergic to either strawberries or rhubarb, in which case, don't try it.

Strawberries and rhubarb... hmmm love strawberries but must confess, not even sure what rhubarb looks like! Will keep an eye out for it. Though I highly doubt I will find it in Zimbabwe.

This site tells you more than anyone needs to know about rhubarb:

Here you will find something a bit more practical:

Strawberry and rhubarb jam is one of the classical jam recipes my mother used to make. It gives an acidic component to the sweet-only berries. And in the garden, rhubarb is practical, because when you plant it on top of your compost heap, its huge leafs will cover everything.

Eaten pure - as a compote with at least the same amount of sugar, otherwise it is completely inedible - it is oviously an aquired taste. (read the second part of the article)

Rhubarb, gak! Vile, revolting stuff that should be banned under the Geneva convention.

Now Kaz, you have obviously never had a proper rhubarb crumble with custard.

Welcome back, Alison!

Don't worry about not liking such a delicious food - more for the rest of us and I can now keep a clear conscience when I leave all the sprouts for you, mrs SkidMarks and Robert Rankin

Maybe he means alfalfa sprouts. Or bean sprouts.

Alfalfa and bean sprouts are yummy, but brussel sprouts are the only vegetable lower in my esteem than rhubarb. Squidgy, disgusting little things trying to be cabbages and failing dismally. Yuk.
